Who invented the first roller compaction?

!: Who invented the first roller compaction?

A compaction roller is an element of construction materials used for compact surfaces such as concrete, soil, gravel or tarmac during construction of foundations and roads. They are also used for compacting landfill, usually with a rolling basis in order to obtain a compacted on a smooth surface.

Roller compaction works by using the weight of a vehicle's surface, they are feasible to compress. In general, compaction is performed firstby a roller with tires filled with air, best suited to lightly, even non-land of a newly constructed road. The compaction roller drum with its sleek metal determines the smooth finish.

The compaction rolls may have been first drawn by horses and it is possible that they were used by the Romans were prolific builders of roads in the 2nd century BC.

In modern mechanized several reels were in use since the time of the invention of the steamroll around 1859 and remained in use in the United Kingdom nearly a century later when, in the year 1960, they were replaced by an internal combustion engine driven rollers. Parts of the existing M1 motorway have been constructed with the help of steam rollers.

The first motor coils were designed in the 1900s. Hamm AG, which is now part of Wirtgen GmbH, the first coils diesel produced in 1911. Hamm AG was founded in 1878 by the brothers Anton and Franz Hammwho both dealers, farm equipment building. In 1928, they took the bold step of abolishing all other product lines to focus solely on the compaction rolls.

The bet is won and Hamm AG went from strength to strength, consistently delivering innovative products to global demand, such as the development of a tandem, all roller compaction wheel drive in 1951.

When motorized rollers has been more widely used, the challenge was how to improve them. NovemberMay 1948, U.S. Patent 2,677,995 by the inventor WW Wood. The patent describes the use of vibration of the mass per meter output of the current generation of compaction rolls increase.

But it was a newly formed Swedish AB Vibro-Betong, which began in 1953 with the launch of the first vibratory roller. The compaction roller news was soon joined by similar products of competitors, including Bomag, vibrating roller BW60 which launched in 1957. ABVibro-Betong is still to this day but it is now known as the Dynapac and is part of the parent company of Atlas Copco since 2007.

The compaction roller is further improved and a wide range of products are now available, small plates and vibratory walk-behind trench roller through the mass ride-on rollers weighing 20 tons and cost more than $ 150,000 . landfill units may be even greater with a weight up to a massive 54 tonnes.

Bosch dishwashers - are they a good investment?

!: Bosch dishwashers - are they a good investment?

Like many people, when looking for a new dishwasher, I did a little research to know what is the best machine to buy. I read a lot of dishwasher notes and comments, the most interest appliances Bosch strong. Bosch dishwashers I've seen in stores, but their appearance, they tend to arrive at a good price. This is why I ask this question - Bosch dishwashers are really worth that little extraon?

Reliability

appliances are manufactured by Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, a German production company, which also produces the Siemens brand. German manufacturers generally have a good reputation. Admittedly, this is something that attracts me to the Bosch dishwasher. Experts also agree that Bosch is a reliable brand. Malcolm Coles of the magazine is quoted as saying: "Bosch (and honey) are trademarks of confidence and will not go awaydishwasher full of dirty dishes or vacuum cleaners that do not suck. "A study of nearly 15,000 readers what Bosch has shown one of the largest brands in terms of reliability.

Categories Bosch Dishwasher

Bosch dishwashers are divided into four categories, Classixx, Avantixx, Exxcel and Logixx. In fact, you can sort all lines of Bosch appliances. Classixx range, the cheapest and most basic of the four categories. Avantixx based on Classixx, adding some nicefunctions, such as a door into two stages and the basket AQUASENSOR Matic which detects how dirty the water and adjusts the program period, temperature and water accordingly. Exxcel model has a much broader functions, including Varioflex Vario basket system, Express Wash, Auto Clean (auto own tells the dishwasher to automatically select the right program), intensive zone (for very dirty pots and pans), the additional hygiene for a final rinse and warmDosageAssist. Logixx models add Vario drawer for cutlery basket and increased energy efficiency to replace.

Energy efficiency

It's one of my main requirements of a new device. Bosch home appliances are recommended by the Energy Saving Trust, to which I think we can gather it is probably very effective in that the energy savings. It is also clear from the promotional material on their website and appliance stores, the company heavypromotion of energy efficiency of their appliances Bosch. The Exxcel new functionality and enables Bosch Logixx water system that keeps water in the most efficient way possible by maximizing the efficiency of water during flushing and improve pump performance. Here are the details of energy consumption for the three energy-efficient models.

Avantixx

Consumption for 50 Eco:

13 liters of water, 1.05 kWh of energy, 140 minduration

Exxcel

Consumption in the program

Economics 50: 12 liters of water, 1.05 kWh of energy, time 140 min

Logixx

Consumption for 50 Eco:

10 liters of water, 0.97 kWh of energy, 140 min

So ... If you invest?

I think so. If the price is a problem, it's a good idea to watch the series Bosch Classix, reaching an affordable price while giving a great performance. He has not the energy efficiency of more expensivemodels (although still in competition with other brands), but it gives a great magazine and washing under which the ratings of dishwashers that I have read many. But it is the Logixx Exxcel and they are the most notable. Yes, they come at a higher price, but the structure, characteristics and energy efficiency make it a smart purchase.
